Package Summary
Guaranteed Shark Diving all year round and dive with many species of shark found on the reefs of Aliwal Shoal. Join a group on a dedicated week's diving and observing the abundance of Shark life around the Shoal. During this week you will learn about the behaviour of sharks towards divers. After a few dives you will easily be able to read the individual species of shark’s behaviour and how you should dive with them to get the best possible interaction.
The week starts with a briefing about the shoal and talking about the possible interactions that the group will have with sharks throughout the week. The group will start with reef dives on the first couple of days and get a feel for the area. On these dives you could at any time have fantastic encounters with sharks so keep an eye out! During the months from April – November you should see many Ragged Tooth Sharks (Sand Tiger) and in recent years they have been present on Aliwal Shoal all year.
Shark Week Durban is very well tailored for groups with 8 rooms at the lodge which can cater for either a couple or 2 singles. The lodge is stunning and has a communal living room, 2 swimming pools, a large entertainment area and full dive centre. There are 2 boats available to allow for ultimate flexibility and experience throughout the week. The lodge has ocean views and there is an option to eat in with home cooked food and also during the week you will have the opportunity to try the local restaurants in the area. Once you have kitted up at the lodge dive centre you will be transported in the client Landrover Game viewer to the beach where the boat will launch. Following each dive you will be picked up by the landrover and taken back to the lodge dive centre to de-kit and shower before relaxing for the afternoon

Shark Week Durban Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive Durban
We will meet you at Durban International Airport or other pick-up points as required. You can arrive at anytime during the day. You will be transferred [+/- 30mins] to our lodge, where you will meet the team and spend the day relaxing. In the evening you can enjoy dinner at the lodge or at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight Scuba Lodge.
Day 2 to 6 : 8 x Shark Dives & 1 x Tiger Shark Dive
An early morning rise for breakfast. We receive information about the conditions before deciding where we dive. The diving takes place along the KwaZulu Natal South Coast on the reefs between the Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks. The reefs are rated as some of the best in the world for shark diving and our aim is to show you as many different species of sharks as possible.
On one of the days when the conditions are best suited you will also experience our baited Tiger Shark Dive on the southern end of the Aliwal Shoal. Optional extra dives are available should the conditions allow.
In the evening enjoy dinner at the lodge or at one of the local restaurants.
Day 7 : Airport Transfers or Extend your stay
In the morning you enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then you will be transferred to Durban International Airport where we will bid you farewell. Day 1 : Transfer to Gansbaai to the Roundhouse Guesthouse
On day one of this package we transfer you from the airport to Gansbaai where you will check in at the luxurious 4 star Roundhouse guesthouse in de Kelders. This is the prime whale watching area in the World so be sure to look out for them when visiting between June - January
Days 2 & 3 : Great White Shark Cage Diving
This is normally a fairly early start where we will transfer you to the crew house for the shark diving. There you will have breakfast before the briefing and commencement of the tour. From here we will go to the boat and then cruise 15-20 minutes to the ‘Shark Zone’ where the sharks are patrolling. The trip at sea is approximately 4 hours and there is ample opportunity for cage diving and viewing. All gear is included as well as Breakfast, drinks and snacks on the boat and light lunch after. After you will watch the DVD of the day and have an opportunity to buy this. we will then transfer you back to the Roundhouse to relax for the remainder of the day. Hiking on the rocks, Whale watching or just sunbathing are popular depending on season.
Day 4 & 5: Cape Town On day 4 you will be transferred to Cape Town to the Breakwater Lodge near the Waterfront. You will enjoy your final 2 days in Cape Town enjoying what this beautiful city has to offer.

Day 1 : Transfer to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve Transfer north to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, its one road from Durban airport to Hluhluwe. Set in the heart of Zululand, the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi is the oldest game reserve in Africa, established in 1895. The night is spent within the reserve in chalets with fantastic views. Overnight Hluhluwe.
Day 2 : Full Day Game Safari An early rise to enjoy a full day game viewing in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. The reserve is home to Africa's 'Big 5', lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and the black and white rhino. Viewing areas overlook pans and waterholes enabling you to observe Africa’s wildlife at close range. In the evening enjoy dinner at the lodge. Overnight Hluhluwe.
Day 3 : Morning Game Drive & Night Game Drive An early rise for a morning game drive in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. After the game drive you enjoy a late breakfast before spending the day relaxing. In the late afternoon you will experience the a sunset / night drive within the private reserve. In the evening enjoy dinner at the lodge. Overnight Hluhluwe.
Day 4 : Transfer to Durban In the morning after breakfast you transfer south back to Durban International Airport [+/- 3hours]. You can enjoy an optional morning drive if your flights etc allow.
