White Shark day trip includes:

m	Breakfast on arrival

Duration :

Please keep your entire day available for this tour. On busy days we might run two tours resulting in a 8am and 12pm launch time. We determine the meeting time a day or two before the trip.

Number of divers on the boat :

White Shark is surveyed to take 12 passengers to sea. This makes White Shark the smallest boat in the fleet and definately one of the prefered boats on a calm day.

Shark Dive and Stay Package

The White Shark Diving Company is proud to be the only boat that takes a maximum of 12 clients per trip. 4 Divers in the cage at a time maximises your dive experience as the cage is spacious and has wide yet safe viewing ports.

Ex Springbok rugby star Robbie Kempson heads The White Shark Diving Company which is known for its personal small group tours of maximum 12 people. They have resisted with buying much larger vessels like some of the other operators and like to keep the groups small so to ensure personal attention to everyone on board.

Arrive at our crew house early morning to enjoy a buffet breakfast and cup of freshly brewed coffee. Whilst enjoying breakfast we listen to the dive masters briefing regarding the happenings of the day. The videographer that will be filming your experience is also introduced. Once paperwork and briefing has been finalised, we head down to the harbour, only a 1 minute walk from our sea facing crew house. Board the boat to enjoy the 20 minute boat ride out to the anchoring point. We chum the water and once the sharks are around we start to cage dive.

The shark makes its swift, surprise attack from below and behind, leaping out of the water making a terrifying, brief, shocking appearance from nowhere. Having struck with awesome power, it falls backwards, using the forces of gravity and its incredibly powerful body to move away from the boat and descends into the depths of the ocean, its elegant torpedo-shaped body leaving not even a ripple on the surface. Passengers can experience excellent surface viewing from the boat’s upper deck to get an all-round view of the sharks attacking, circling and descending. It is the ideal spot to capture the exhilarating action on film or shoot video footage - the water is no more than 6 meters deep on location (when in shark alley itself) so most days you will be able to see the sharks circling underneath.

Tshirts, caps and some postcards are available at the White Shark Diving Company crew house. For an entire range of white shark products as well as underwater disposable cameras we recommend that you stop at The Great White Adventure Centre. This is the first building as you enter Gansbaai. At the centre you can buy underwater disposable cameras, rent an underwater digital camera and more. This shop has a huge selection of white shark souvenirs for you to remember your day by. One souvenir that is only available from the White Shark Diving Company though is of course your day trip DVD. The DVD can be purchased after the trip at a cost of R350-00.

White Shark is a 30ft (10m) Dive Cat
deep-sea cabin cruiser, with two 225HP Yamaha Outboard Motors.

The boat can carry 15 passengers. To enhance the overall experience for our guests, only twelve passengers per trip are accepted, thus reservations are absolutely essential.

Once the sharks are around, a specially designed secure 4 man shark cage diving cage, which floats with part of the cage out of the water is lowered into the water. Divers are never more than 1 meter below the surface and anyone can give this a try subject to approval of the dive master. A wide panoramic port, allows the diver to photograph and film. Divers merely slide into the opening at the top of the cage and retrieve their mouthpieces. The cover at the top of the opening is closed before diving starts.

The dive gear supplied is a 7 ml wetsuit (ranging from sizes adult small to 3 XL) with booties and hoodie plus mask. We make use of the breath hold method and this has proven to be the best method. Weight belt is also supplied.
