Day 1: Flight & Transfer to Gansbaai
Once you arrive at Cape Town’s airport, pick up your rental vehicle and drive to Gansbaai, enjoying the two-hour scenic drive along the striking coastline. Arrive at the gorgeous Roundhouse Guest House, or another hotel and check in before spending the rest of the day either relaxing in your stylish accommodation or exploring the charming town of Gansbaai.
Day 2 – 4: 1 Great White Shark trip per day
Enjoy a delicious breakfast either at the Guest House or the crew house, depending on the launch time of the Great White Shark boat. The trip lasts about 3 – 4 hours and is all inclusive, with your diving gear, towels, snacks, drinks and a hot lunch incorporated.
Relish a phenomenal up-close encounter with the powerful Great White Sharks and then return to shore to spend the rest of the day discovering the many attractions of the area, including the beautiful beaches and walking trails along the rocky cliffs. Adventure seekers can challenge themselves with the 4×4 track, go kayaking or explore the caves, while others can delight in whale watching from the sunny shores.
Day 5: Flight to JHB & Overnight JHB
After breakfast you will head back to the Cape Town airport, hand over you rental car and then fly to Johannesburg during the afternoon. When you arrive at the airport you will be taken to the Airport Grand Hotel (or similar) and then the rest of the day is yours to spend as you choose, discovering the delights of Johannesburg.
Day 6: Flight to Inhambane & Transfer to Praia do Tofo
You will be taken to Lanseria Airport after breakfast, to catch the mid-morning flight to Inhambane, where you will be met at the airport with a transfer to Praia do Tofo. Once you arrive, check in at the exquisite Beach Casitas and then head for the dive centre, where you can plan and discuss your dive itinerary for the following days. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and discovering the gorgeous area.
Day 7 – 12: 6 x dives & 2 x whale shark safaris
Your mornings will start at the dive centre, where you will meet for the day’s first dive. You will be briefed over breakfast, then get your gear on and head for the sea and spend some time immersed in the spectacular natural beauty of the reefs. Look out for the elegant Manta Rays, gliding gracefully over the reefs and the enormous Whale Sharks drifting lazily near the surface. After your dive, tuck into a scrumptious brunch or snack and then kit up for dive number two and hop straight back into the water for another precious moment of under-the-sea bliss.
Dive groups will usually assemble at 07h00 and 14h00, while the popular Whale Shark safaris take place at 11h00. Each morning the times will be confirmed for the following day’s dive schedule. If your first dive is a double tank dive, you may be lucky enough to experience three dives on that day, with the third tank an optional extra. Spend the rest of the day unwinding, discussing the highlights of your dives and enjoying the sunshine and splendour of the beach.
Day 13: Transfer & Flight to JHB
Bid a fond farewell to Praia do Tofos’s attractive beaches at midday, when you will be transferred to Inhambane airport to depart for Johannesburg.
